Gasping for breath,
Walking in circles
The room closes in
Walls
Smaller and smaller
Air draining from existence
You sink down
Knees pulled against your chest
Holding tighter and tighter
Heat
Pulses through your body
Head spinning twists twirling
Hands in your hair
Pulling
Yanking
Screaming to get the voices
Out.
A poem created for a college project my first year, but it was elevated during a workshop exercise my junior year.
