Web Design

Are you looking for an online professional portfolio, storefront, or general website? I’ll do the heavy lifting! We’ll have a conversation to outline what you’ll need on your site and discuss requirements/ preferences before I dive in with the creation.

Web Design includes:

  • Page Layout & Navigation
  • Updated Copy & Components
  • Testing Functionality & Usability
  • Image Editing, Retouching, & Formatting
  • Support & Training: once the site is built, you’ll need to know how to keep it up to date! I’ll provide you with an in-depth tutorial on everything you need to know, and answer any questions that you may have.

You’ll be kept closely in the loop of the development to ensure the final product is everything you imagined it’d be.

*Please keep in mind that art and design is subjective, with artists and clients having different tastes, budgets, and needs. I will use my artistic judgment when providing services for you, which may not include strict adherence to your suggestions.

We’re in the end game now! Let’s make sure no errors slip through our fingers! This includes going over the prior copy editing to ensure grammar, punctuation, setting, character personality/ dialogue, spelling, and everything in between is at a level we both feel proud of. Let’s tie up any loose ends we’ve left for this final pass-through!

*Please keep in mind all of the changes I suggest are based on personal experience through earning my degree, specific genre styles and common tropes, current writing trends, and industry standards. YOU ultimately decide if you like my changes or not. That’s the beauty of writing your own story.

This is the nitty-gritty form of editing where I’ll go line by line to ensure quality control through Google Docs or Microsoft Word (Whatever your preference):

  • Fact-Checking: this includes names, dates, locations, times, and everything else in between. From historical dates and locations to fictional world-building locations and time periods, I’ll ensure everything is accurate according to your development. There’s nothing worse than having a character described in a green shirt than suddenly having them wearing purple, or having the time or setting change suddenly!
  • Smoothing/Streamlining: Let’s get rid of those over-used words, unnecessary tangents, and anything else that takes away from the main meat of the story to ensure solid pacing.
  • Technical Editing: I’ll ensure spelling, grammar, punctuation, and sentence structure are accurate per industry and genre standards.
  • Comments & Feedback: Did you have questions about certain sections of your work? I’ll be sure to answer everything–no matter how small the question. I’ll leave comments and feedback in sections for you to review.

These Copy Edits will be made available to view before YOU ultimately make the final decision through Google’s version of “Track Changes” (Google Suggestions in Google Docs.) In your document, you will see the changes I propose in a different color, along with any comments or feedback. On each of these suggestions, you will have the ability to reply to any change or comment before approving or denying the changes.

*Please keep in mind all of the changes I suggest are based off of personal experience through earning my degree, specific genre styles and common tropes, current writing trends, and industry standards. YOU ultimately decide if you like my changes or not. That’s the beauty of writing your own story.

I’ll help to refine and improve the structure and content of your manuscript. This broad, manuscript-long review includes:

  • Character Development & Dialogue: what makes the character tick? I’ll analyze character motivation, development arcs, and relationships to ensure they resonate authentically. Do their voices sound unique? What about quirks? Flaws? Each fictional character develops a personality, and it needs to be showcased! There’s nothing worse than a flat, underdeveloped character.
  • Voice & Style: every author has a unique voice, and it’s my job to ensure it stands out. I’ll work closely with you to refine your style and maintain consistency throughout the manuscript for tone, flow, tense, and point of view.
  • Target Audience, Themes & Genre: It’s important to ensure your writing and themes are tailored for the appropriate target audience– a Young Adult book can have different themes and situations than a Middle Grade Book, so let’s make sure you’re happy with your genre and age range!
  • Structural & Narrative Analysis: feedback on plot development, pacing, and the overall story arch. My goal is to enhance the coherence and impact of your ideas to ensure there aren’t any plot holes!

You’ll receive an in-depth editorial letter with details describing my thoughts on these topics and what I think could be improved or changed to build compelling chapters.
